The Oakland Raiders have Derek Carr as their starting quarterback. After that, Jon Gruden doesn't know if he is comfortable with the quarterback depth chart. Gruden wouldn't commit to his backup quarterback currently being on the roster when asked about it on Friday.

“I don't know,” Gruden said Friday via NFL.com. “You know, we're going to continue to work, continue to see who's available. I thought there were some good moments tonight and there were some moments tonight that weren't good. It's been too inconsistent but I'm not going to say much more tonight until I see the tape, but we're going to continue to evaluate it.”

The Raiders currently have EJ Manuel and Connor Cook on the roster. Manuel hasn't done a good job with ball security and had one fumble during Friday's game against the Green Bay Packers. Cook has had problems with accuracy during the preseason. It's hard to gauge what the Raiders will do but the team hasn't been afraid to make moves this offseason, even if people outside the organization questioned it. One person of interest could be Teddy Bridgewater of the New York Jets. The team has a surplus of quarterbacks and Bridgewater is probably the guy who will be traded or released.

He would be a very good addition to the team and could step in if Carr went down with an injury. The Raiders know what life is like without Carr under center and having a backup quarterback the team doesn't trust would be an issue.
