The Oakland Raiders have shaken things up this offseason with several major additions to the roster that has brought the competition level across the roster to the next level.

This is the case for the wide receiver position that former Pro Bowler Jordy Nelson has voiced that the depth at the spot has led to much jocking for playing time. (h/t Philip Robinson III of Silver and Black Pride)

Beyond the projected top-three options at the position in Nelson, Amari Cooper, and Martavis Bryant, the team has added more depth to the position this offseason. This includes the likes of Ryan Switzer, Dwayne Harris, Seth Roberts, Johnny Holton, and Griff Whalen. There is much talent at that spot on the roster that should make for more stable play in the passing game with an increased level of talent.

Nelson is expected to be the second option in the passing game behind Cooper as he has proven throughout his career that he can be a highly dependable receiver. This is a chance to re-establish himself as a premier wideout in the league after a significant drop off in production in the 2017 season in his final year with the Green Bay Packers.

If the Raiders hope to make a significant step forward in the 2018 season, it will require them to have much more stability offensively. A major part of this effort will be in the passing game as Oakland is hoping that Nelson can be one of the driving forces on that side of the ball.
