Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs had a tremendous rookie season, and he is being rewarded for his efforts with his ratings in Madden 21.

As a matter of fact, Jacobs has just one halfback ahead of him in the break-tackle rating, and that player is Cleveland Browns star, Nick Chubb.

Jacobs, who played his collegiate football at the University of Alabama, was originally selected by the Raiders in the first round (24th pick overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Initially, the Raiders' decision to use a first-round pick on a running back raised some eyebrows, especially considering that Jacobs was not overly productive in college.

During his final season at Alabama in 2018, the 22-year-old registered 640 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground while averaging 5.3 yards per carry. Overall, Jacobs totaled 1,491 rushing yards in three years with the Crimson Tide.

While those are hardly bad numbers, they are not the kinds of statistics you would expect out of a first-round running back. However, it didn't take long for Jacobs to prove the doubters wrong.

The Tulsa, Ok. native played in 13 games during his rookie campaign and racked up 1,150 yards and seven scores as a rusher, logging a robust 4.8 yards per attempt.

Now, Jacobs is widely viewed as one of the top running backs in football.

The Raiders are getting set to begin their first season in Las Vegas after spending 25 seasons in Oakland. Throughout their tenure in the Bay Area, the Raiders made just four trips to the playoffs, with three of those appearances coming between 2000 and 2002. They made the Super Bowl during that last year.

Jacobs and Co. went 7-9 in 2019.
