The Oakland Raiders have something in Josh Jacobs. On Sunday, the running back tied Hall of Famer Marcus Allen for most 100-yard rushing games by a Raiders rookie (three), according to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.

Jacobs was able to tie Allen's record in only eight games. However, there is a crucial aspect to the statistic: Allen recording three 100+ rushing yard games in nine games. Allen's rookie year was in 1982, a strike-shortened season.

Nonetheless, the record is impressive. Not only did Jacobs tied Allen in one less game, but he also did so in a different era. No more does just about every team possess a workhorse back. 2019 sits in the era of the pass. However, Jacobs is a bell-cow back; that's why the Raiders spent a first-rounder to get him in April. He has paid off for them.

Jacobs tied the record in Oakland's Nov. 3 bout with the Detroit Lions. At the time of writing (eight minutes left), the rookie hailing from Tuscaloosa has 27 rush attempts for 120 yards and two touchdowns. He entered the game with 124 attempts for 620 yards and four touchdowns in seven games (all starts).

Down the stretch, expect Jacobs to continue breaking records for Oakland. The rookie has flourished in his workhorse role with the Raiders. Though he has sustained a few bumps and bruises through the course of his outstanding first-half rookie year, he is an integral part to Jon Gruden's offense. If he doesn't get going, the rest of the offense isn't the same.
