The Las Vegas Raiders are certainly not in a good shape right now, having lost all of their last three games. But the losing skid shouldn't completely overshadow the positive impact of veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson on the Raiders' offense. It's easy to say that Jackson has done barely anything for the Raiders since signing a one-year deal that's worth $2 million with Las Vegas earlier this month, as he's only logged one reception on one target through two games with his new team.

But Jackson's value on the team can be better underscored by this detail, via Context Matters:

DeSean Jackson was only in a route on 30% of the Raiders' dropbacks on Sunday but he demanded double or help coverage on 6 of 10 routes.

40% of Darren Waller's yardage came on plays with Jackson on the field drawing away defenders.

Bryan Edwards drew help on 14% of routes.

At 34 years old, Jackson is still seen as a legitimately dangerous deep threat by opposing defenses. Jackson can still make defensive coordinators experience mini-heart attacks every time they see him line up on the field.

The Raiders are definitely going to need to capitalize on most opportunities on offense every time Jackson attracts an extra defender, as Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow can continue to benefit from those double teams that Jackson takes with him.
