The Las Vegas Raiders have been pegged as frontrunners to try and land New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in free agency. It appears he may not be at the top of their list of priorities under center this offseason.

According to NFL Network's Mike Garofolo, the Raiders are reportedly interested in signing Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota:

Mike Mayock's No. 1 ranked QB in 2015. Of course, Mariota will have other options and the Raiders will explore other QBs so no guarantee it comes together. But he's in the mix for sure.

General manager Mike Mayock has acknowledged that the Raiders will be exploring all options this offseason. Although they made headlines with their reported interest in Brady, it seems they could be focusing on perhaps a more realistic option.

Mayock was among those that were enamored with Mariota's potential heading into the 2015 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, he was never able to fully develop into a bonafide franchise quarterback in Tennessee. The resurgence of backup Ryan Tannehill during the 2019 NFL season only helped to solidify this notion. Regardless, it seems Las Vegas is hoping that a change of scenery could be just what he needs to get back on track.

Despite his struggles, Mariota should still garner plenty of interest on the market from quarterback-hungry teams. Whether or not the Raiders are actually prioritizing him over Brady remains to be seen. The only thing that is for sure is that Mayock and head coach Jon Gruden are going to due their due diligence on every potential option.
