The Seattle Seahawks franchise and the rest of the NFL are in mourning with the sad news of the passing of Seahawks owner Paul Allen. Allen finally succumbed to complications from his battle with non-Hodgkins lymphoma at the age of 65.

There’s been an outpouring of emotion from several prominent people around the league as they pay their respects to Allen. One of which is former Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch.

Lynch took to Twitter to send his short but sweet message to the Allen and his family during this difficult time.

“Beast Mode” spent six seasons in Seattle, which were among the best of his entire NFL career. He rushed for 6,347 yards with 57 touchdowns as he was an integral part of one of the greatest runs of success in the franchise’s 43-year history.

Of course, that culminated in their Super Bowl victory in 2014, which no doubt brought Allen a lot of joy as the Seahawks brought the city of Seattle’s first major sports title in decades.

While Lynch has since moved on to Oakland, Seattle still holds a special place in his heart. Allen proved to be a major part of that portion of his life, so it’s only fitting that Lynch pays his respects.
