In the last couple of weeks, there has been plenty of attention directed toward wide receiver Martavis Bryant's struggles to pick up the playbook with the Oakland Raiders.

This has led to some question about whether he will be able to impact the game in the manner that is hoped given his difficulties that have occurred over in training camp. According to Scott Bair of NBC Sports, Bryant is even now practicing with the second team that has put his starting status in question.

It is a discouraging sign for the Raiders with one of their expected key offensive contributors struggling to make headway with his understanding of the playbook. This hasn't allowed for him to blend into the fold in the manner that the team had hoped this offseason, which has led to head coach Jon Gruden to touch on the matter stating that Bryant isn't picking up the offense.

The Raiders are still high on him being able to figure it out and become a key piece to the puzzle given his dynamic playmaking ability as a legitimate deep-ball threat in the passing game. In his first campaign back from a one-year suspension, he put together a productive campaign by recording 50 catches on 84 targets for 603 receiving yards with three touchdowns. This included posting six games with at least four catches while topping 60 receiving yards on three occasions.

There is still plenty of time for Bryant to make some progress in his understanding of the offense, but it isn't looking promising at the moment.
