Oakland Raiders wide receiver Martavis Bryant is being kept out of the field by a seemingly nasty case of migraines. According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, Bryant has been forced to miss two-straight practices due to the said ailment, which he also noted as a condition the player has been enduring for a long time.

Raiders WR Martavis Bryant missed his second straight practice with what I was told are really bad migraines, a condition that has apparently plagued him for years.

Bryant was traded to Oakland by the Pittsburgh Steelers back in April in exchange for a 2018 third-round pick, and so far, he has yet to impress his new team.

Raiders head coach Jon Gruden’s dissatisfaction of Bryant’s performance in the offseason was noted in an earlier report, with the mentor urging the receiver to “play better.” The Raiders even seemed to have put Ryan Switzer ahead of Bryant on the depth chart.

Missing practices due to migraines may be understandable, but it does nothing to rectify Bryant’s already shaky start to his stint in Oakland.

It’s unclear whether Martavis Bryant will be able to play this Saturday in a preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams on the road. Bryant did play last week, however, in a 16-10 home win over the Detroit Lions, catching just one pass out of four targets for 18 yards.

The Raiders still hope that Bryant can get it together, as it’s hard to ignore the player’s elite athleticism and the threat he poses downfield to opposing defenses.
