The defending Super Bowl LIV champion Kansas City Chiefs still reign supreme in the AFC West division. But not if the Las Vegas Raiders have anything to say about it. Well, that's according to defensive end Maxx Crosby that is.

Heading into the upcoming season with the Raiders, the sophomore is motivated to step up against the Chiefs and the rest of the division. The former Eastern Michigan standout shared his mindset going into the 2020 season with Ed Graney of the Las Vegas Review-Journal:

“I know what we need to beat the Chiefs,” Crosby said.  “Well, not the exact formula, but I know how much confidence is important in a locker room. If you ask me if I’m going to get Mahomes, I will say yes every time. I’ve put in the work. I want to show all the guys that we can beat anyone. I have no problem being that guy and taking any heat for it. I want to be a leader. I want to set the example.”

Crosby looks to build upon a productive rookie season for the Raiders in 2019. He contributed 10 sacks and 47 combined tackles in 16 games played for the team.

The Silver and Black hope to improve on a subpar 2019 campaign which ended with a 7-9 record, finishing in third place in the division. A comeback playoff run 18 years in the making is currently in the works for head coach Jon Gruden and his men.

The Las Vegas Raiders will open the 2020 season as they match up against a rejigged Carolina Panthers side in the Bank of America Stadium on September 14.
