The Oakland Raiders and Mike Mayock are continuing to find ways to improve their roster. One way they can do that is possibly adding a player through the NFL's supplemental draft.

According to Tony Pauline of draftanalyst.com, Mayock was among a group of representatives from other teams to attend the workout of Marcus Simms. Simms was a wide receiver from West Virginia who played three years at the university.

The West Virginia product had 46 catches, 699 yards, and two touchdowns in his junior season. Simms was on track to return to college for his senior season before he began missing some of the spring practices.

At first, he was reported missing the practices due to an injury, but it was later found out that he violated the college's student code of conduct. As a result, Simms admitted his name into the transfer portal but ended up deciding to put his name into the supplemental draft.

At 6-foot, nearly 195 pounds, Simms can run past defenders with ease. His combination of speed and elusiveness has allowed him to get plenty of consideration as a kick and punt returner. In the right system, though, he could develop into a playmaker in an offense.

Notably, the Raiders have already added Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, and J.J. Nelson to their receiving corp. Mayock would like to continue adding offensive weapons though to help Derek Carr succeed.

The supplemental draft will take place on July 10th so the Raiders could land Simms then. Unlike the regular NFL Draft, there are only a few players to choose from in the supplemental draft. Teams bid on the players by using their future 2020 draft picks, and the highest bidder gets the player.
