The Oakland Raiders have been steadily adding pieces to the puzzle this offseason by bringing the bulk of the incoming talent on the defensive side of the ball. The front office has zoned in on improving areas of need to help the team bounce back from a disappointing 2017 that saw them fall short of the playoffs.

Among these potential moves was the expected visit with free agent All-Pro defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh on Wednesday afternoon. However, it appears that the 31-year-old has changed course on possibly joining the Raiders and has called off the meeting the organization, according to Ian Rapoport of The NFL Network.

Oakland had emerged as a potential landing spot as it was announced on Tuesday morning that he had scheduled a meeting with them Wednesday. This sudden change of heart about seeing the Raiders could signal that Suh is a nearing his decision as his last visit was with the Los Angeles Rams on Tuesday where he met them at the practice facility along with held dinner with the team.

It appears that the Rams have made a significant impression on him to possibly join the mix in what's stacking up to be a highly formidable defense that now features a pair of All-Pro cornerbacks in Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib. He could have the chance to pair up alongside reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald to form a dominant duo on the defensive line.

Suh's decision to move on from the Raiders should shift the franchise to look elsewhere to find more help at defensive tackle. The team has already inked defensive tackle Justin Ellis to a three-year, $15 million to keep him in the fold. The team still has the need to add more help at creating pressure on the quarterback after finishing 24th in the league last season with just 31 total sacks.
