Now that the 2019 NFL Draft is over, we can begin looking forward to the beginning of training camp and the new NFL year. With every team getting acclimated with their new draft picks, it’s inevitable that some teams with higher picks will be playing each other. This year, however, this only happens one time in the AFC.

Taking a look at the Oakland Raiders schedule, their Week 12 game against the New York Jets on November 24 is the only AFC game in the 2019 regular season that will involve two top-five 2019 draft picks, when Clelin Ferrell and Quinnen Williams meet each other.

While both players won’t exactly be doing much battling it out on the field, they’ll be trying to lead their defenses to victory against either offense.

Ferrell was selected fourth overall in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Raiders, a shocking selection at the time and still surprising a couple of weeks later.

While Ferrell may have been a reach to many of those who cover the draft, Jon Gruden and Mike Mayock clearly value him as a player, and will be looking to him to become the new leader of a team that does not have a true identity yet.

Williams, an Alabama standout who many thought could be deserving of the first overall pick, was taken third by the Jets after Kyler Murray and Nick Bosa.

As the Jets are often known for their fierce defense, Williams slides right into a defensive line that already boasts Leonard Williams, and will look to create a ferocious front-seven that gets after the quarterback.
