Oakland Raiders cornerback Gareon Conley suffered a scary neck injury during his team's win over the Denver Broncos on Monday and had to be carted off of the field as a result.

But Conley appears to be just fine.

He was released from the hospital the next day and tweeted that he was okay, and on Thursday, Raiders defensive coordinator Paul Guenther said that Conley should be ready to play on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs, per Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com.

This is obviously significant news for Oakland, as the Raiders will need all hands on deck in their secondary to deal with Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes this weekend.

Mahomes, the reigning NFL MVP, completed 25 of his 33 passes for 378 yards and three touchdowns during Kansas City's Week 1 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars last Sunday.

Meanwhile, Conley is in his third season in the Bay. He played his collegiate football at Ohio State and was originally selected by Oakland in the first round (24th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Injuries limited Conley to just two games during his rookie campaign, but the following season, he appeared in 15 contests and registered 37 tackles, three interceptions, 15 passes defended, and a defensive touchdown.

The 24-year-old logged four tackles before leaving the game on Monday night.

It certainly has been a wild summer for the Raiders, who were considered potential playoff contenders before ultimately releasing Antonio Brown just before the season began.

Now, Oakland's postseason chances have taken a hit sans Brown, but the Raiders have gotten off to a good start for a change.
