It has a whirlwind of events for veteran wide receiver Martavis Bryant over the last couple of weeks that has seen his status with the Oakland Raiders change rapidly.

Shortly after the Raiders made the decision to part ways with Bryant last week due to a possible suspension due to violating the league's substance abuse policy, the team has made the decision to bring him back on a one-year deal, according to Paul Guiterrez of ESPN.

It has been quite an interesting sequence of events for both sides as the Raiders had originally traded for him during the 2018 NFL Draft back in late April by moving a third-round pick for him to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had been going through the offseason having much difficulty latching onto the offense that put him on the second-team offense due to his struggles with the playbook.

Things turned further south after reports surfaced that he was facing another one-year suspension, which has looked to close the books on his time in Oakland. However, the team has made the choice to re-sign him to bring in the fold despite those rumors still afloat overhead of him. There is still much to sort out but it is certain that he is now back in the fold where he could play a major role in the offense if the league doesn't hand down a suspension to him.

Bryant is a proven talent that has shown he can be a big-play asset in the passing game as a legitimate deep-ball threat.  In his first campaign back from a one-year suspension, he put together a productive campaign by recording 50 catches on 84 targets for 603 receiving yards with three touchdowns. This included posting six games with at least four catches while topping 60 receiving yards on three occasions. This is simply another opportunity to showcase that he can be a big factor for the Raiders.
