The Oakland Raiders bolstered their defensive line on Sunday. The team announced they have signed defensive tackle Corey Liuget. There's no word on the length or amount of the contract.

Oakland also signed linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams and released long snapper Andrew DePaola. Earlier reports indicated that they had released running back Doug Martin, but they announced he was being placed on the injured reserve instead.

Liuget, 28, spent all of his career with the San Diego turned Los Angeles Chargers after the team selected him with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He chose to sign with the Raiders over the Arizona Cardinals.

Liuget became a free agent after the Chargers declined to exercise an option on his contract. In March of 2018, he received a four-game suspension from the NFL for a violation of the performance-enhancing drug policy. In Week 11 of the 2018 regular season, he tore his quadriceps; for the year, he played six games, starting three.

Throughout eight seasons with the Bolts, Liuget played in 108 games, starting all but five. In that span, he recorded 275 combined tackles, 53 quarterback hits, 59 tackles for loss, and 24 sacks. In 2018, he amassed 14 combined tackles, five quarterback hits, five tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.

While the Raiders have spent much of their offseason adding to the offense, their defense has gotten some new additions too. Liuget joins fellow veterans Lamarcus Joyner, Brandon Marshall, Vontaze Burfict, and Nevin Lawson in a rebuilt defense.

The team also added Clelin Ferrell, Johnathan Abram, Trayvon Mullen, Maxx Crosby, and Isaiah Johnson in the draft.
