The Oakland Raiders are desperate to bolster their pass rush and they're attempting to do so with their latest transaction. On Saturday, Oakland is signing former first-round pick Dion Jordan per Adam Schefter.

The Raiders already played their game in Week 10 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday night. Oakland came out on top 26-24 while the defense had a season-high five sacks on Philip Rivers.

Despite the all-around performance by the defense, Jon Gruden knows that he can't remain complacent. Therefore, the fiery head coach is deciding to bring in Jordan to provide some depth along the defensive line.

Recently, the Raiders were forced to place Arden Key on injured reserve with a foot injury. Key was a backup for Oakland, but he was rotated in at defensive end. Before his injury, Key totaled two sacks and four hits on the quarterback.

The Raiders currently start rookies Clelin Ferrell and Maxx Crosby at their defensive end positions. The first-year duo has combined for six sacks for Oakland so far.

Oakland has 20 sacks on the season (23rd in the NFL) and are going to need a formidable pass rush if they hope to make the playoffs. Jordan provides them with depth, but can he produce for the Raiders?

Back in 2013, Jordan was the third-overall pick for the Miami Dolphins. Sadly, he was never able to reach his potential and has been sitting in free agency following the 2018 season.

The 29-year-old defensive end only has 8.5 career sacks with the Dolphins and Seattle Seahawks. Despite his perceived label of being a bust, the Raiders anticipate having Jordan as a contributor on their defense due to injuries.
