The Oakland Raiders have traded cornerback Gareon Conley to the Houston Texans for a third-round draft pick, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic.

The deal comes one day after the Raiders' secondary was lit up for 429 yards and five touchdowns by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers' offense, a game in which Conley struggled.

Through six games this season, Conley has logged 23 tackles and an interception.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Ohio State, was originally selected by Oakland in the first round (24th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He was limited to just two games during his rookie campaign as a result of a shin injury that ultimately landed him on the injured reserve list, but last year, Conley appeared in 15 contests, registering 37 tackles, three picks, 15 passes defended and a defensive touchdown.

The Texans were in need of help in their secondary after cornerback Bradley Roby suffered a hamstring injury during Houston's win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6, an injury that is expected to sideline him for an extended period of time.

The Texans' pass defense has struggled this season, as it ranks just 29th in the NFL, allowing opposing quarterbacks to throw for 275.6 yards per game while also posting a passer rating of 102.9.

Houston has also struggled to generate turnovers, as it has logged just three interceptions as a team this year.

The Texans have gotten off to a 4-3 start and will play host to the Raiders (ironically enough) next Sunday.
