Ever since the announcement of Antonio Brown's signing with the Oakland Raiders, many fans and bettors alike have jumped right onto the Silver and Black bandwagon.
According to BetOnline.ag, the Raiders saw their odds of winning Super Bowl LIV skyrocket from a longshot number of 100-1 to a good return of investment price of 66-1.
While prospective high rollers are licking their chops at a shot of winning big by placing stakes on Oakland, the team can already declare itself the biggest winner of the offseason after pulling off one of the most cunning trades in recent memory.
In exchange for the four-time first team All-Pro wide receiver, the Raiders merely had to send their third- and fifth-round picks at this coming April's NFL Draft to the Pittsburgh Steelers. What they got in return for those mid-round picks, obviously, is a generational talent in Brown that will certainly revitalize Oakland's offense in an instant.
Last season, quarterback Derek Carr failed to send the Raiders back into the playoffs. The three-time Pro Bowl selection lost his favorite downfield target in Michael Crabtree the season prior and failed yet again to develop a better rapport with supposed stud wideout Amari Cooper.
Now that Brown will be the one to fill in the holes left by Carr's previous go-to targets, the future of Raiders football is shining brightly once again. Having been to the Super Bowl once and the postseason in six of his nine seasons in the NFL, AB will bring not just his sheer talent to O-Town, but also his rich playoffs experience and drive to win at all costs.
