The Golden State Warriors will leave their long-time home of Oakland next season, moving across the bay to San Francisco's newly-built Chase Center. While excitement for the team's relocation is building, one extra prominent voice in the Bay Area insists the Warriors' presence will create enough complications by itself, not leaving enough room for the Oakland Raiders to come with them.

In response to news that the Raiders have engaged in talks with the San Francisco Giants about playing next season at South Beach's Oracle Park, San Francisco mayor London Breed said she believes the Raiders should remain in the East Bay – and not just because the City of Oakland risks being otherwise left out to dry by two of its longtime professional sports teams.

“As far as I'm concerned, the Oakland Raiders should play in Oakland,” she told KTVU on Tuesday.

“We don't need another layer to add to what we already have — and that's an area that's really congested filled with construction and will host a number of basketball and baseball games over the coming months,” Breed continued.

The Associated Press reported on Sunday night that the Raiders and Giants have had preliminary discussions about the former making Oracle Park, which changed its name from AT&T Park earlier this year, their home next season. Owner Mark Davis' team currently has no place to play home games in 2019 after the city of Oakland sued it and the NFL in December over a planned move to Las Vegas the following year.

The Raiders wouldn't only need the go-ahead from San Francisco city officials before making Oracle Park their temporary home, but also approval from the NFL, which could be hard to come by given the existing presence of the San Francisco 49ers.
