It didn't take long for Vontaze Burfict to start getting some interest in his services. After being cut by the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday, Burfict is already on his way to visit the Oakland Raiders according to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

Burfict is only 28 years old but he has been in trouble with the league a lot and is considered a dirty player by some across the league. Over the last three seasons, Burfict has missed 18 games and a lot of those were because of suspensions handed down by the NFL. Bengals Zac Taylor released a statement saying a fresh start was probably best for both sides.

“As we continue to build our roster for the 2019 season, we felt it best to give both the team and Vontaze a fresh start,” Bengals coach Zac Taylor said in a statement via ESPN.com. “Vontaze has been a good player here — the team appreciates that, and I know a lot of fans appreciate that — but our focus is on the future. Our goal is to build a successful team for the upcoming season, and we felt that making this change now was best for everyone.”

Jon Gruden has seemed to target veteran players since coming to Oakland so it really should be of little surprise that Burfict is someone he would be interested in. The team also does have some inside information on him. The Raiders have Paul Guenther on their staff and he used to be the defensive coordinator of the Bengals. He must still think highly of Burfict if he wants to bring him in.
