The Las Vegas Raiders are exploring trade options with star left tackle Trent Brown, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. With the franchise in search of more help on defense, the Raiders appear as though they're willing to give up Brown via trade this offseason. With so few tackles available on the market in free agency, Las Vegas might be able to get a nice return in a deal.
In two years with the organization, Brown has only played 16 games out of 32, including just five games in 2020. However, being that he'll still only be 28 years at the start of next season with a lot of talent, the Raiders should have plenty of suitors.
Despite being a legitimate offensive lineman, trading Brown makes sense for this franchise. The offensive line played well in his absence, giving the Raiders the freedom to trade him to help upgrade other parts of the roster.
With the defense in complete turmoil last season, Las Vegas is expected to focus on acquiring defensive players this offseason. However, the club still needs another receiver, which would elevate the offense overall.
It's unclear as to what exactly the Raiders are looking for in return, but there are a few teams that should highly consider making an offer. The Seattle Seahawks stand out amongst the crowd given the Russell Wilson situation, and the Jacksonville Jaguars will want to help protect likely No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence.
Pay close attention to Trent Brown, as he could be traded sooner rather than later.
