The Oakland Raiders took a bunch of risks with their roster moves this offseason. One of which was their acquisition of wide receiver Martavis Bryant, who is talented but has significant question marks and red flags surrounding him. The Raiders may soon have to deal with the consequences of taking such a risk on the troubled receiver.

Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the Raiders fear a possible suspension for Bryant could be coming soon.

While multiple team officials declined to comment about the matter, they did confirm they’re still waiting for word from the league on the situation, which is believed to be regarding the league’s substance-abuse policy.

Bryant, whom the Raiders got in a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers for a third-round pick during the draft, had already been banned for the entire 2016 season after multiple violations. He returned last year and had 50 catches for 603 yards with three touchdowns in 15 games (eight starts).

If found guilty of another violation-whether it's a failed test or even a missed exam-could see Bryant facing another year-long ban or longer.

It would certainly be a disappointing blow for the Raiders if they are to indeed lose Bryant for a significant amount of time. They brought Bryant in to provide their offense with another dimension with his ability to break out for big plays.

If Bryant does get banned, the Raiders will have to lean more on Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson to be the main receiving options for quarterback Derek Carr.
