Las Vegas Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson played the role of a hero in a Thanksgiving Day win over the Dallas Cowboys. Carlson made the game-winning field goal to seal the 36-33 win for Las Vegas but spoke after the game about how he was faced with unusual circumstances amid a bout with food poisoning. Carlson was prepared to take drastic measures to beat the Cowboys.

Not only did Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson make all five field goals and all three extra points attempted against the Cowboys, but he did so with the threat of food poisoning hanging over his head. That should be right up there with the Michael Jordan flu/food poisoning game.

Carlson literally had to line up for the game-winning kick four times due to penalties committed by both the Raiders and Cowboys. Just imagine what was going through his head. Please let's just kick the ball so no adult diapers need to get involved. Or picture Jim Nantz and Tony Romo questioning why there's a big trash bag on the sideline near the kicking net.

In all seriousness, that is impressive that Carlson was able to put on such a performance after dealing with food poisoning, which can be quite the ordeal.

To recap, not only was Daniel Carlson a pivotal part of the Raiders' upset win over the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, but he was fully prepared to take the field donning adult diapers if needed. That brings new meaning to the phrase “take one for the team.

Ladies and gentlemen, a round of applause for Raiders kicker Daniel Carlson.
