Oakland Raiders receiver Amari Cooper, who has a status of up in the air for Monday Night Football, is actually not upset over a hit that hurt him and resulted in a fine.

Denver Broncos safety Darian Stewart was fined $24,309 for the illegal hit, which left Cooper with a concussion and an ankle injury.

And yet, Amari Cooper is fine with it.

“I felt like it was a fair hit,” Cooper said, via Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “I guess he got flagged on that play, so I don’t know. Rules change.”

Cooper missed one game before returning in Week 14 against Kansas City. He made it through 14 snaps before leaving and missed last week’s game against Dallas.

“To feel like you’re ready to play, to put in all that time in treatment only to get hurt again can be tough mentally,” Cooper said, via Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area. “But it’s football. There’s a risk of getting hurt on every play.”

By way of Matt Kawahara of The San Francisco Gate:

Cooper was among 11 players who did not participate in Thursday’s practice. The Raiders do hope to have Cooper active Monday for their prime-time Christmas Day game against the Eagles, head coach Jack Del Rio said.

“We hope to get him back to practice and have a good week of practice and then be ready to go Monday night,” Del Rio said.

To be honest, Cooper's ability to be completely fine with a hit the NFL ruled as illegal is relatively astonishing.
