Madden 19 is not giving Aaron Donald a rating of 99 for nothing. Indeed, the Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle is one of the fiercest defensive beasts in the NFL, one who also enjoys universal recognition by experts and fans alike.

According to a recent rankings list done by Doug Farrar of Bleacher Report, the defensive tackle is the best in the business when it comes to rushing the passer – better than the other celebrated pass rushers like Khalil Mack of the Oakland Raiders, Von Miller of the Denver Broncos, and Joey Bosa of the Los Angeles Chargers

Here’s an excerpt from how Farrar tried to paint a picture of Donald’s immense impact on the field:

The NFL's version of a needle in a haystack? Try to find something Donald doesn't do at a plus level.

You want power? Watch him come low off the snap and demolish a guard. You want quickness? Donald can blow past blocks as quickly as you see edge-rushers do it—his burst off the ball requires multiple replays to believe. You want hand technique? Donald can get past enemy blockers with rip and swim moves as well as anyone.

Donald was a key element to the surprising success of the Rams last season when they improved their 4-12 record in 2016 to an 11-5 slate, topping the NFC West and reaching the playoffs for the first time in franchise history since 2004.

Donald led the Rams in sacks in 2017 with 11.0 quarterback takedowns. His presence often requires opposing teams to send double teams at him, thus opening some holes for his teammates to exploit. As a team, the Rams finished fourth in the league last season with 48 sacks.

Donald is still only 27, so he’s it’s going to be long before he stops being the biggest nightmare of opposing quarterbacks.
