The Los Angeles Rams shockingly released Todd Gurley and players on the roster aren't taking the decision well. Among the notable players, Aaron Donald shared his reaction to the news of Los Angeles releasing Gurley on Twitter.

It's safe to say the All-Pro defensive tackle doesn't approve of the Rams ridding of the best running back they've had since Steven Jackson. However, the writing was on the wall for Los Angeles to part ways with Gurley once the 2019 season concluded.

Back in 2014, the Rams selected Donald with the No. 13 pick in the draft. Then, just a year later the Rams added Gurley in the first round, making him and Donald the cornerstones of the franchise for years to come.

In his first four seasons, Gurley would combine for 4,547 rushing yards and 46 touchdowns. While he was producing impressive numbers, the Georgia product also earned three Pro Bowl bids and two All-Pro nods. Before the 2018 season, the Rams decided to give Gurley a four-year, $57.5 million extension.

But after the 2018 season, it was discovered that Gurley had developed arthritis in his knee, stemming from the knee injury he suffered in college. Now, the Rams are facing the harsh reality of paying a running back an extensive amount of money.

As for Donald, he's watched Michael Brockers, Cory Littleton, Dante Fowler, Clay Matthews, Nickell Robey-Coleman, and now Gurley depart this offseason. Moving forward, Los Angeles has its work cut out to return to being Super Bowl contenders. For starters, they might want to make sure everything is okay with Donald before making any more moves.
