The NFL has brought the hammer down on Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald for his physical altercation with DJ Humphries of the Arizona Cardinals during their Wild Card matchup last Monday. Donald has received a hefty fine for choking Humphries during a heated moment between the pair.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Donald will need to shell out over $10,000 in fines. Humphries, however, has not been penalized for his role in the fracas:
#Rams DT Aaron Donald was fined $10,815 for unnecessary roughness, roughhousing with #Cardinals OT DJ Humphries after a play Monday night. Humphries was not fined.

Donald wasn't really able to get a firm grip on Humphries' neck but the intent was clearly there from the Rams star. Based on the clip above, it also looks like a punch was thrown in the direction of Humphries' face, although it didn't really connect cleanly.
It's hard not to overlook the fact that Aaron Donald was attempting to choke his opponent while bearing the words āstop hateā at the back of his helmet. That's quite ironic, wouldn't you say so?
Donald and the Rams emerged victorious against the Cardinals, 34-11, and they are now slated to take on Tom Brady and the defending champs Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Sunday.
