Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has long established himself as the best defensive player in the NFL. Of course, it is still difficult to encapsulate just how dominant he has been since the start off his career.

According to Pro Football Focus, Donald owns the five highest pass-rush grades for a defensive tackle since 2006:

Highest single-season pass-rush grades for DTs since 2006

1. Aaron Donald, 2017
2. Aaron Donald, 2018
3. Aaron Donald, 2016
4. Aaron Donald, 2015
5. Aaron Donald, 2019

Although Donald did not come into the league until 2014, he still managed to surpass his predecessors by posting the highest single-season score for five consecutive years. At this point, it is safe to say that he is simply in a class all by himself on the Rams.

Donald is coming off yet another spectacular year that saw him register 12.5 sacks and 24 QB hits en route to first-team All-Pro honors for the fifth year in a row. While it may have paled in comparison to the 20.5-sack year he had in the 2018 campaign, this just goes to show how high expectations are for the Rams' star.

The Rams have since ushered in some significant changes to both their roster and coaching staff as they prepare to usher in a new era at SoFi stadium in the 2020 NFL season. Despite all the turnover, they can take solace in the fact that Donald remains as the focal point of their defense.

Still in the prime of his career, the 28-year-old is poised to reclaim his status as the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year with the Rams. The prospect of Donald forcing PFF to update their list would certainly make for a safe bet.
