In Week 2, the Los Angeles Rams will face the New Orleans Saints in a rematch of last year's NFC Championship game. Aqib Talib understands that the Saints are still sulking over their loss from last year's game.

Last year, the Rams and Saints faced each other in a nail-biting contest in the NFC Championship Game. Late in the fourth quarter, Drew Brees targeted Tommylee Lewis on a wheel route down the sideline.

On the play, Nickell Robey-Coleman delivered an early hit to Lewis before the ball arrived at his hands. Therefore, everyone was expecting to see the referees throw the yellow flag for defensive pass interference.

Instead, the referees swallowed their whistle and the game continued as if nothing happened. As a result, New Orleans had to settle for a field goal late in the game—giving the Rams a chance to force overtime.

Jared Goff received the ball late in the game and was able to drive Los Angeles into field-goal range to allow Greg Zuerlein to take the game into overtime. Of course, the Rams ended up winning the game in overtime after Brees threw a crucial interception to John Johnson.

Following the game, Sean Payton and the Saints shifted the entire blame for losing the game to the non-call that occurred in the fourth quarter. Throughout the offseason, New Orleans has continued to discuss the no-call and how they were slighted in the NFC Championship Game.

Talib understands that the Rams benefitted from the call but it's time to move on from last year's game. Both teams will need to forget about what happened last year to try improving their record to 2-0 in 2019.
