Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has certainly had an interesting career thus far.

He was taken with the first overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Rams in 2016 and struggled mightily during his rookie campaign, but once Sean McVay took over as head coach in 2017, Goff began to flourish.

Of course, Goff had a bit of an off year in 2019 due largely in part to Todd Gurley's struggles, so it remains to be seen how Goff responds next season.

Former Los Angeles cornerback Aqib Talib thinks Goff will be just fine…as long as he stays in LA.

“But I mean, like you said, there’s some guys where it doesn’t matter where you put those guys, they’re going to excel,” Talib said on The Dave Dameshek Football Program this week. “I think Jared, him and the system that they’re running, I think it’s successful. As long as he stays where he is, I think he’s in a great system that fits his talents. So as long as he stays where he is, I think he’ll be pretty good. I don’t think the Rams’ downfall, it was not just Jared Goff. It was the entire team, starting at the top. It was everybody. It was a Super Bowl hangover. You get complacent.”

In other words, Talib thinks Goff is a system quarterback.

Talib certainly isn't the first person to make that sort of statement about Goff, especially seeing how much he struggled this past year with Gurley compromised with injuries.

Goff made back-to-back Pro Bowls in 2017 and 2018 before throwing 22 touchdowns and 16 interceptions in 2019.
