The Miami Dolphins are set to part ways with All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh after just three seasons into his monster six-year, $114.7 million deal. This has already piqued the interest of several teams around the league about the possibility of adding one of the top players at his position in the mix.

Among this early interest has been the Los Angeles Rams, who have been one of the busier teams this offseason in retooling their roster on the defensive side of the ball. According to Mike Klis of 9News, newly acquired All-Pro cornerback Aqib Talib has already made a public push over social media to get Suh to the Rams.

The Rams have quickly assembled an intriguing defensive unit this offseason with the acquisition of both Talib and Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters that adds that should give them one of the best secondaries in the league. Los Angeles already possesses reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year in Aaron Donald, and the chance to add another bruising talent at the position in Suh could take them to the next level.

The front office currently has just south of $30 million in salary cap space remaining this offseason, which is more than enough to offer the 31-year-old a lucrative deal to join the fray. Suh may have to take a step down from what he was earning in his previous contract, but he is certainly worth a major contract at this point in his career.

He is still one of the best defensive tackles in the league earning five Pro Bowl selections, four First-Team All-Pro nods, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections. He did experience a drop in production this past season recording 47 total tackles and 4.5 sack, but he is still playing at an elite level.

Ultimately, once he hits the free agent market in the next few days, there will be a stronger sense of where he is interested in playing next season and possibly beyond that. It will also give the Rams an idea of how realistic their chances are of luring him in to become another major part of their promising defense in 2018.
