The Los Angeles Rams have gotten stellar production out of their trio of wide receivers led by Brandin Cooks. The same cannot be said for the New England Patriots.

The Rams have gotten plenty of bang for their buck thus far after acquiring Cooks in the offseason. In fact, he has been more productive than New England's entire receiving corps, via NFL Network's Andrew Siciliano:

Needless to say, this is not the most encouraging statistic for Patriots fans to see. They had confidence that their receiving corps would remain effective with the departure of Cooks. This is why they were willing to give him up for a first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. However, the trade has not worked out too well for them thus far.

It is not as if Cooks was a bust in his lone season in New England. He established himself as one of quarterback Tom Brady's favorite targets and finished the year with his third straight 1,000-yard campaign. Despite his stellar season, Cooks found himself on his third team in three years entering the 2018 campaign.

Fortunately, it is clear that the move to Los Angeles has worked out pretty well thus far. The Rams wasted no time in making him part of their long-term plans with a five-year contract extension. Many questioned their hastiness in signing him to a new deal, however, it has already started to pay huge dividends. The speedy wideout gives quarterback Jared Goff yet another talented playmaker in his arsenal.

Meanwhile, the Patriots offense as a whole has struggled to find its footing this season. However, it appears their struggles with wideouts will soon be over with the return of Julian Edelman and the arrival of Josh Gordon. Regardless, it is safe to assume they will not be able to match the numbers Cooks put up with Brady last season.
