It's been a tough career for Brandin Cooks so far. The Los Angeles Rams wide receiver has always been one of the better wideouts in the NFL, but injuries keep him from performing at his peak. The most terrifying fact about his injury history is that he's had concussions five times throughout his six-year career.

Given the nature of his injuries, it's easy for any football player to consider his overall health and mull about retiring from the league. Health is more important than playing in the NFL for some, after all.

However, Cooks refuses to give up on his football dream, even clarifying that retirement was the last thing on his mind after suffering all of those concussions.

According to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry, the Rams' #12 didn't even consider hanging up his cleats after going through his latest concussion protocol.

“Absolutely not,” said Cooks, who signed a five-year, $81-million extension before last season. “When it happened, that never went through my mind. Even now, it's not going through my mind.”

The 26-year-old, who has 402 receiving yards and a touchdown to his name this season, explained the logic behind his decision to not quit right then and there.

“One of the biggest things that I learned, concussions is a case-by-case thing,” said Cooks, who didn't show any symptoms the day after he suffered each concussion. “Mine was very unique, and just thankful once again to be able to go and get answers.”

Of course, Cooks know that it's a serious issue that must be acted upon soon, but he's too passionate about the game to pay it no mind. His family and fans could only hope that this accumulation of injuries doesn't affect him in the long run.
