Los Angeles Rams running back C.J. Anderson punctured a stout Dallas Cowboys run defense for 123 yards and a couple of touchdowns in the Rams' 30-22 win in the Divisional Round of the playoffs last weekend.

The funny thing is, about a month ago, Anderson was watching the NFL from his couch after being cut for the second time during the 2018-19 campaign.

Now, however, Anderson is one of the most important pieces in an explosive Rams offense, and he says that all of the rest he got throughout the year is benefiting him:

“I’m the freshest running back in the league,” Anderson said in quotes distributed by the team, via Curtis Crabtee of Pro Football Talk. “I’m not gonna say they’re still fresh, but I’m fresher than Mark (Ingram), Alvin (Kamara) and Todd (Gurley), for sure.”

That's pretty much a given, as Anderson has only played in 12 games this season (including playoffs) and missed over an entire month of game action after being released by the Carolina Panthers on Nov. 13.

Anderson then signed with the Oakland Raiders on Dec. 5, who proceeded to cut him a week later without Anderson playing a single snap.

The Rams then brought Anderson aboard on Dec. 19, and he obliged by rushing for 167 and 132 yards, respectively, over Los Angeles' final two regular-season games before his outburst against the Cowboys last week.

The 27-year-old has taken a ton of pressure off of Gurley, who has been dealing with a knee injury since Week 15. However, Gurley also managed to pound the Cowboys for 115 yards.

The Rams will take on the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship Game this weekend.
