Los Angeles Rams running back Cam Akers made a shocking return to the field in Week 18 against the San Francisco 49ers after tearing his Achilles in July. Akers didn't do much in that Week 18 loss, but he made his presence felt and looked more like himself in the 34-11 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card Round on Monday night.

While Akers didn't put up big numbers, he was still able to handle 17 carries and rushed for 55 yards while also hauling in a 40-yard pass from Odell Beckham Jr. The Rams running back was feeling good after the game and said he knew he was ready to show out.

The Rams getting Akers back for this playoff run is a huge boost for their talented offense. Akers and Sony Michel formed a solid one-two punch on Monday night, with Michel rushing the ball 13 times for 58 yards. Fellow running back Darrell Henderson Jr. has been out with a knee injury, but perhaps he'll be back at some point here in the playoffs to add yet another weapon to this potent Rams offense.

Los Angeles took care of business easily on Monday, running out to a big lead and never looking back. The Rams will now have the tall task of trying to dethrone the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round. Expect Cam Akers to play a key role in these efforts in an attempt to keep Tom Brady off the field as much as possible.
