Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams is one of the most fearsome defensive lineman in the NFL. And former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer remembers when he realized that fact.

Palmer made an appearance on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM radio station and relayed his remembrance of the final game the Cardinals played against the Rams in St. Louis in 2015 (their home before moving westward). Apparently, Donald was in the backfield on seemingly every play, wreaking havoc with Palmer’s plans.

Despite the fact that the Cardinals rolled to a 27-3 victory en route to a division title, Palmer implored his linemen to block No. 99. The team’s center at the time, Lyle Sendlein, piped up and said: “Block him? I can’t even see him!”

Certainly, Sendlein isn’t the only offensive tackle who has trouble containing Donald. The six-year veteran has made the Pro Bowl in each of his seasons in the league. And he has accrued myriad awards in his career thus far, such as two Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2017 and 2018 as well as a Defensive Rookie of the Year nod in 2014.

Donald led the league in sacks in 2018 with 20.5 and has led the league in tackles for loss in each of the last two seasons (25 in 2018, 20 in 2019).

Palmer retired following the 2017 season after 14 years in the league, including memorable stints with the Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals – making it to 3 Pro Bowls during his lengthy career.
