During the Super Bowl, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Nickell Robey-Coleman was flagged for a hit on a defenseless player. Per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, he was fined 26,739 for the hit, yet another offense. He earned a flag of the same kind in the NFC championship game.

Nickell Robey-Coleman is a sixth year NFL veteran. Before he joined the Rams in 2017, he played with the Buffalo Bulls in the four years prior. Robey-Coleman stands at 5'1″ and 180 pounds, a little too small to be a starting NFL corner. He's only started 20 of his 95 games played in his entire career.

The fourth cornerback on the roster is usually employed in dime techniques. This defense has only one or two linebackers, along with six total defensive backs in the secondary. Last season for the Rams, he started one game but played in all sixteen. He had a total of 37 tackles as well as four pass deflections and three tackles for a loss.

The Rams this past season went 13-3 during the regular season. Under head coach Sean McVay, they had one of the best two-way attacks in the league. Their offense built around Jared Goff had only hiccuped in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears. Otherwise, their balanced offensive attack effectively used Todd Gurley in the backfield as a passing weapon and on the ground.

It worked like a charm, all the way to the Super Bowl. The Rams then lost to the Patriots by a score of 13-3, the lowest scoring Super Bowl game of all-time.
