The Los Angeles Rams have brought in another proven veteran with championship experience. The team has reportedly agreed to terms with former Green Bay Packers star, Clay Matthews, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

Along with returning to Los Angeles where he played for USC, Matthews scores a two-year deal with the Rams at a decent numbers considering the circumstances, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

It appears Matthews had more lucrative offers available before signing with the Rams but preferred to return home to play for a title contender.

During his decade-long stint with the Packers, Matthews made a name for himself becoming a force to be reckoned with on the defensive side of the football. The star linebacker built quite the resume in Green Bay earning three All-Pro selections and being selected for the Pro Bowl six times while also winning a title along with fellow star Aaron Rodgers back in Super Bowl XLV.

As a Los Angeles native, Matthews returns home in hopes of winning a second Super Bowl ring as part of a star-studded team that could be a contender for many years to come.

Last season, Matthews didn't make much of an impact on a poor Packers defense. He recorded a career-low 3.5 sacks to go along with one forced fumble and 12 quarterback hits.

Despite the lackluster 2018 campaign, the former Trojans could see a lot of success back in Los Angeles playing for defensive coordinator Wade Phillips and alongside fellow stars Aaron Donald, Marcus Peters, and Aqib Talib.
