The Los Angeles Rams are anxious to get Cooper Kupp back into their offense for the 2019 season. Per Jay Glazer, Kupp is “more explosive“now since his ACL tear from 2018.

Last year, Sean McVay and the Rams were chugging along offensively with their trio of remarkable wide receivers. Among them, Kupp was on his way to having a phenomenal sophomore season in the NFL before he suffered a torn ACL against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10.

Before the injury, the second-year wideout had 40 receptions, 566 yards, and six touchdowns in eight starts. Therefore, the former third-round pick out of Eastern Washington was on pace to finish with 80 catches for 1,132 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2018.

After his season-ending injury, the Rams resorted to incorporating Josh Reynolds more into the offense. Reynolds played fairly well but the offense was vastly different without Kupp running his routes out of the slot. Los Angeles also deployed more two tight-end sets with Gerald Everett and Tyler Higbee as the season progressed.

When Kupp is on the field, Jared Goff tends to look in his direction when the Rams need a crucial play. After Kupp went down with an injury, Goff's play began to become more inconsistent as the season dwindled down.

Despite the injury to their reliable receiver, the Rams were able to fight their way to the Super Bowl with Robert Woods and Brandin Cooks. Unfortunately, McVay and the offense were incapable of scrounging up many points; scoring just three points against the New England Patriots as they lost 13-3 in the Big Game.

As the Rams embark on their 2019 season, they may be getting a new and improved version of Kupp as he enters his third campaign with the franchise.
