The Los Angeles Rams have Super Bowl aspirations going into the 2019 NFL season. Fortunately, it appears they will have one of their best wideouts back in the mix with Cooper Kupp.

Kupp spent a good portion of the 2018 NFL season and the offseason nursing a torn ACL.

According to Vincent Bonsignore of The Athletic, he feels he is on track to make a return by the time the season opener rolls around:

By all accounts, Kupp is on target to return for the Rams’ Sept. 8 regular-season opener against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte. While he didn’t get the green light to completely let loose during organized team activities, Kupp was available for some on-field work and even participated in 11-on-11 drills. Not at full speed, mind you, but enough to show he appears on track to be ready by Week 1.

“I’m taking it day-by-day,” Kupp said. “It’s just about attacking this week, attacking the day as best as I possibly can. And I feel good about where I’m at.”

This is certainly an encouraging update on Kupp. Although there is no shortage of firepower on the Rams' offense, he had easily an integral role for himself as a bit of a safety net for quarterback Jared Goff.

As a result, it is safe to say that the team may be taking a cautious approach with his recovery.

Kupp suffered a knee injury early in the year and was able to make his return before tearing his ACL. He still finished the 2018 campaign with 40 receptions for 566 yards and six touchdowns through eight games. His absence was heavily felt during the team's abysmal loss in Super Bowl LIII.

Fortunately, all signs point to him being back in the fold for next season.
