Cooper Kupp put together a fantastic rookie season with the Los Angeles Rams in 2017. He was following that up nicely in 2018 – and was clearly their slot receiver of the future.

Sadly the season ended abruptly for Kupp after an ACL injury in November. Now, thanks to TheRams.com, he's providing everyone with an update.

“I feel good. I don’t think we like to talk about being on pace or off pace, ahead or behind or anything like that, but I think I’m where I’m supposed to be,” Kupp said, after decleating for just the third time since mid November. “Now, to get back on the field and put cleats on for the first time since the injury, it feels like it really just kind of refreshes things and gives me some new motivation to be able to go attack this thing.”

Kupp recorded 869 yards and five touchdowns on 62 receptions in 15 games in 2017. While that's a fantastic rookie season, he was clearly building to an even better sophomore campaign. In eight games in 2018, Kupp posted 40 receptions for 566 yards and six touchdowns.

Injuries slowed him down though, and he missed a few games midseason. Then it all ended on November 11, when Kupp tore his ACL.

This is an extremely positive update. It's good to see Kupp is grounded with his comeback too. No one would ever blame an athlete for getting ahead of themselves when it comes to this kind of stuff.

It's hard just to sit there and wait until you can start rehab. Then it's hard to go through rehab when all you want to do is start playing again. Therefore, sometimes it feels like the players are rushing back from their return. All that's going to do in the end is hurt them even more as they might not have given the injury proper time to heal.

Kupp seems to understand that and doesn't want to be over or under-hyping how everything is going. He does seem ready to get back on the field though, and that's major news for the Rams.

Kupp is perhaps their most consistent target. That's saying something when considering the Rams receiver corps boasts the likes of Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods as well.

Quarterback Jared Goff definitely won't be complaining about having another target available to him next year though.

At the moment, everything seems to be going well for Kupp in his efforts to rehab from an ACL injury. Hopefully, things continue to progress and we get to see him on an NFL field soon enough.
