The NFC West division lead is hanging in the balance as the Los Angeles Rams take on the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday, and it appears Trumaine Johnson will be active.

According to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN, the Rams are expected to have the services of Johnson, their top cornerback, for Sunday's tilt.

Franchise cornerback Trumaine Johnson is not in the concussion protocol, Rams coach Sean McVay said. Johnson was evaluated for a concussion during the game and passed, but he remained out because of a stinger. Johnson is also expected to play, a big boost for a team that will be without its other starting corner.

As of Sunday night, the report was that Johnson did have a concussion.

Johnson's availability against the Seahawks is a huge factor given the team has already lost offseason addition Kayvon Webster for the season due to a torn Achilles he suffered against the Philadelphia Eagles. Webster was the team's other starting cornerback in his first season with Los Angeles.

The loss of Webster pushes more importance on Troy Hill and LaMarcus Joyner to make up for his absence in the secondary. Offseason addition Nickel Robey-Coleman could also be used in certain coverage situations at the other starting spot.

The Rams have one of the better defenses against the pass this season, ranking 11th through the first 14 weeks. This includes ranking fifth both for lowest passer rating (79.3) against and interceptions made (15), along with placing third with the lowest opposing completion percentage (59.2).
