The Kansas City Chiefs had issues blocking for Patrick Mahomes against the Los Angeles Rams and Dante Fowler thinks that rattled the Chiefs' second-year play caller. Mahomes did a good job of stepping up in the pocket and still getting throws off, but there were a  few throws that he missed that usually, he would have made with no problems.

“I’d say towards the end like the last five minutes of the game I felt like he was a little rattled,” Folwer said via Pro Football Talk. “When you’re in situations like that, him being, I’ll say a rookie, in his first year in situations like that it’s kind of hard. We put the pressure on him and we did a good job.”

Mahomes stats looked impressive throwing for 478 yards and six touchdowns. He also made a couple of questionable decisions which resulted in three interceptions and two lost fumbles. The Rams defense gave up a lot of points, but Fowler thought the team did enough when they needed to and that helped them come away with a victory.

“A whole bunch of track stars on their team,” Fowler said. “But we were able to hold them down and get stop them and get to the quarterback. I feel like that was a big thing. AD [Aaron Donald] got two sack-fumbles and we got two touchdowns on defense. Those things matter the most. I feel like that was one of the key parts of the game.”

The win by the Rams kept them in first place in NFC standings at least for now. They don't control their own destiny for the number one seed, because they have played one more game than the New Orleans Saints.
