The Los Angeles Rams keep getting hit by injuries to their running back group. Cam Akers tore his Achilles and is already out for the year, paving the way for Darrell Henderson to take control of the group. However, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN, Henderson hurt his thumb during practice on Monday. When asked about his status, Rams head coach Sean McVay wasn't entirely sure.

This doesn't sound too good for the Rams starting running back, especially with the season opener just a couple of weeks away. Then again, perhaps the time will allow Henderson to rest up for Week 1.

Henderson was primed for a huge campaign, after a season that saw him battle with Akers for the starting job. But now the Rams have questions to answer if he is forced to miss some time, which in itself remains up in the air.

The hope is that it's nothing serious, and if it is, the Rams will have to search for another running back to man the ground until he can return. Their season opener is on September 12 against the Chicago Bears, so still plenty of time until the season kicks off, and hopefully he can be ready.
