Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers are set to face off against Aaron Donald and the LA Rams in the NFL Divisional playoffs.

Rodgers knows he will have to be at his best to regularly get away from Donald– who is set to play for the Rams despite suffering a rib injury last week.

Rodgers has faced plenty of defensive players over the course of his career, noting that Donald is one of the most formidable defenders he has had to face.

“It’s very rare that you have an impact player that rushes from the inside,” Rodgers said. “There’s just not as much space.”

“JJ Watt has done it for a long time and also done it on the edge, but most of the real, real impact players, when it comes to pass rush, are edge rushers.”

“A little different with 99 [Donald]. He’s a special, special player. Obviously, a first-ballot Hall of Famer.”

“Impact player every single year for the Rams, a guy that you have to game plan for, have to be aware of where he’s at all times, and just one of those special talents that we haven’t seen a whole lot of in the history of the game.”

Donald collected two sacks on Russell Wilson last week in the Rams shocking upset of the Seattle Seahawks. Though the Rams and Packers did not have a regular-season matchup, Donald sacked Rodgers twice and hit him four times in a 29-27 win in the 2019 season.

Both teams know that containing these two players will be the key to success.
