Following an extended absence from the Los Angeles Rams due to a contract holdout, Aaron Donald made his return to the team on Saturday morning by undergoing his physical.

It was a bit of turn of events given that there has not been much progress made toward a new deal for three-time Pro Bowler. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, first-year head coach Sean McVay played a huge part in helping end the lengthy holdout.

One of the men who had a role in ending the stalemate between the Los Angeles Rams and Aaron Donald was rookie head coach Sean McVay, sources tell ESPN's Adam Schefter.

McVay was part of the group on behalf of the Rams' that flew to Atlanta just prior to the final preseason game to meet with Donald's representatives to see if something could be worked out to get the star defensive tackle back with the team. The fact that he took time away to address the issue personally is a clear indication of the importance of getting the situation resolved.
