Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey is once again seeking a new, long-term contract after failing to come to terms with his previous employer, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Coming over to Los Angeles midway through last season by way of a trade away from the Jaguars, it remains to be seen as to whether or not the Rams will lock Ramsey up for years to come as he is presently gearing up to play under the parameters of the final year of his current contract.

It is also worth noting that Jalen Ramsey is still playing out his initial four-year rookie contract as the 2020-21 campaign falls under the jurisdiction of the fifth-year option that comes along with a former first round NFL Draft pick's initial professional contract.

The 25-year-old Jalen Ramsey was originally selected by the aforementioned Jaguars with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Florida State. Spending the first three full seasons of his NFL career in Jacksonville, it wasn't until midway through his fourth go-round with the AFC South franchise that things eventually boiled over between the two sides, causing the trade to the Rams.

Even though Jalen Ramsey remains one of the top cover cornerbacks in the entire NFL, the veteran defensive back is still seeking that always elusive second — and very lucrative — contract.

If the Rams do not sign him to a multi-year deal sometime soon, it will be especially interesting to see what happens if Jalen Ramsey is eventually able to test the open market as an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
