Los Angeles Rams All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey pitched the City of Angels as an ideal landing spot for Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones amid his ongoing trade saga.

Ramsey tweeted the Rams are an ideal organization for a star like Jones, who requested a trade from the Falcons months ago.

The Rams do seem like an appetizing destination for Jones.

Los Angeles made a big play to acquire Matthew Stafford the Detroit Lions earlier this offseason. Stafford could give the Rams more of a vertical passing attack than they had with Jared Goff under center, and adding Jones to a receiving corps already including Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp is quite the thought experiment.

However, it feels unlikely the Rams could actually pull off a Jones trade, for a few different reasons.

For starters, the Rams are pretty hamstrung by the salary cap in the coming years. They had to manifest a lot of cap space to negotiate extensions for Woods and Kupp. Jones is owed just north of $38 million over the next three years, which is one of the complicating factors in Atlanta's attempts to move him.

Additionally, the Rams do not have a lot of future draft capital to work with. Los Angeles traded its 2022 and 2023 first-round picks as part of the Stafford deal. Maybe the Falcons will have to settle for lesser compensation, but they would undoubtedly jump at the chance to possibly add a first.

In any case, there are multiple challenges to making a Jones-Rams trade work for both sides. It might take someone like Ramsey agreeing to restructure his contract.
