The Los Angeles Rams and starting quarterback Jared Goff are out to an impressive start to the season after racking up their fourth-straight win on Sunday afternoon in a 33-7 blowout over the Houston Texans.

The second-year QB once again rose to the occasion, putting up a huge performance by completing 25-of-37 passes for a career-high 355 yards and three touchdowns. According to Alden Gonzalez of ESPN, the 22-year-old put himself in elite company with that strong outing, especially when L.A. used play-action.

It also marked the first time in his career that Goff has posted back-to-back 300 yard performances, compiling 666 yards on 39-of-59 completed passes with seven touchdowns over the last two weeks. This has pushed him to first in the league in yards per completion (8.49), joining Alex Smith and Tom Brady as the only quarterbacks this season to have multiple games with at least 300 yards, three passing touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He is also the only quarterback in franchise history to accomplish that feat in back-to-back games.

The maturation of Goff has been a huge part of the Rams' overall success this season that has them atop of the NFC West with a 7-2 record. This is a testament to the organization providing him with more weapons in the passing game and stability along the offensive line while also implementing an offensive system where he can excel.

The stellar play of Todd Gurley, who is fourth in the league with 754 rushing yards and leads all skilled-position players with 10 total touchdowns, has really helped the Rams sell the play-action, creating opportunities for guys like Robert Woods, Sammy Watkins, and Cooper Kupp to get open.

There are clearly many factors at play that have greatly contributed to Goff's success this season, but above all else, it's evident that that Rams may have something special brewing.
